comes under this project are Website, Public Grievance & Redressal, Property Tax,
Financial Accounting, GIS
Mapping, Birth & Death Certification and Ward

eGovernments Foundation
& Survey of India. These computer based systems
coupled with Govt. process re-engineering and GIS digital mapping

City Municipal Council, Chickmagalur: This
building was constructed in the year 1913. This was previously
called as Narasimha Raja Wodeyar town hall. The town municipal
council ,chickmagalur was constituted in this building in the
year 1924. In the year 1985 T.M.C was converted in to the City
Municipal Council , Chickmagalur. It has 35 wards Chickmagalur
has a population of 101251 people. It stretches to an area of
27 Sq Kms.
Chickmagalur:
Located 251 km from Bangalore,
the name literally means 'Younger Daughter's Town'. It is said
to have been given as a dowry to the younger daughter of
Rukmangada, the legendary chief of Sakrepatna. The town enjoys
a salubrious climate and is famous for the sprawling tea and
coffee estates. Some interesting excursions include Sringeri,
Hebbefalls, Marle, Kemma nnagundi, Bababudan range, Belavadi,
Kalasa, Horanadu, Amrithapura, Bhadra wildlife sanctuary,
Ayyanakere and Kudremukh.

The annual budget of the CMC for the year 2006-07 is Rs. 1332 lakhs. Out of which 648 lakhs is proposed for capital
expenses, Rs. 654 lakhs towards Repairs and Maintenance,
Rs. 600 lakhs towards New works and Rs. 30 lakhs towards the welfare
of SC/ST
